September 2, 2025 – Grand Rapids, Mich. – Pheasants Forever is proud to introduce Jacob Northuis as the new Regional Representative for Michigan. Northuis will partner with active chapter volunteers to contribute to the organization's goals of improving public and private lands conservation efforts for pheasants, quail and other wildlife.
"Jacob will be an excellent addition to the team in Michigan,” said Matt Christensen, PF’s director of chapter and volunteer services. "He has been an excellent leader for our team in Idaho, and has facilitated many strong relationships with partner organizations, our chapters, and fellow team members. I have no doubts he will continue to contribute to the mission while elevating the chapter volunteers across the state."
Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever empower county and local chapters with the responsibility to determine how 100 percent of their locally raised conservation funds will be spent - the only national conservation organization that operates through this grassroots structure. As a result, chapter volunteers can see the fruits of their efforts locally, while belonging to a larger national organization with a voice on federal and state conservation policy. Northuis will help guide local chapters to achieve the organization’s mission in Michigan.
Northuis has been with The Habitat Organization for the past six years as both a partner biologist manager and range and wildlife conservationist in Idaho. Throughout his career, he has led teams, organized large-scale events, overseen conservation projects for a variety of wildlife, and fostered strong working relationships with partners and team members. Additionally, Northuis holds a bachelor’s degree in fisheries and wildlife management from Lake Superior State University.
“I’m thrilled to be joining our incredible team in Michigan,” Northuis said. “Our ability to deliver conservation efforts depends on our chapters and volunteers; we would not be able to create meaningful change across the landscape without them. I can’t wait to return to my home state and work to support each chapter’s goals.”
