With the official launch of the Journey to Conservation Careers (J2CC) course at

Pheasant Fest, now is the time to share the opportunity & value this course offers! Those

who complete J2CC receive a certificate of completion, PF & QF student membership,

tickets to the 2025 Pheasant Fest, an internship with PF & QF or agency partner

(dependent on availability), admittance to the virtual Conservation & College Career

Fair, and 2.3 college credits from Bellevue University. J2CC is a fantastic resource for

students to explore options that exist in the realm of conservation, gain foundational

knowledge of biology, ecology, and upland habitat. Spring is the time of growth, help us

Hands-On Habitat month is slated for May 2024! Through a dedicated month of on-the-

ground volunteerism and habitat projects, we are once again challenging our chapters,

volunteers, and supporters to find time in May to host or participate in a project

devoted to improving upland landscapes. This is a call-to-action for all of us to put boots

on the ground, get our hands dirty, and prove that we are the sharp end of the

St. Clair County Pheasants Forever will be at the Earth Fair Saturday, April 27th

The St. Clair County Pheasants Forever Chapter #74 will be at the St. Clair County Earth Fair on Saturday, April 27th.  The Earth Fair will be at the Goodells County Park.  The Earth Fair hours are 10:00 A.M.- 4:00 A.M.  We will be in the Responsible Recreation Tent along with other exhibitors.  Stop in and say "hi!".

On this Earth Day 2024, we’re calling attention to the fact that America’s grasslands are vanishing at an alarming rate.   These are the prairies, savannas, glades, and sage brush steppe lands in our own backyard communities. These ecosystems protect our waters, soils, and climate. And as this grassland habitat disappears, so do the wildlife populations dependent upon them.   Today, more than two dozen conservation organizations have joined forces to underscore the importance of grasslands habitat conservation. Please visit MapForGrasslands.org to learn about the magnitude of impact this habitat loss has had on 15 iconic grassland-dependent wildlife species, ranging from birds to mammals and fish to insects.   VIEW THE INTERACTIVE GRASSLANDS MAP We need to act quickly to conserve and restore North America’s native grasslands and sagebrush shrub-steppe while supporting ranchers, farmers, Tribal Nations, sportsmen and women, and rural communities. An investment in North America’s grassland and sagebrush shrub-steppe ecosystems through a new North American Grasslands Conservation Act will drive voluntary, science-based efforts to conserve these ecosystems while supporting working lands conservation in order to sequester carbon and prevent further loss of grassland and sagebrush wildlife.   Want to help? Share or view as webpage  |  Update preferences Beginner Pheasant Hunt Saturday, April 27, 8 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. Rooster Ranch, 7480 Germania Road, Ubly For new, or newly returning, hunters ages 25-45. Participants will review gun safety, practice shooting clay targets and then get into the field to hunt live pheasants. After the hunt, they will clean the birds to take home. Cost is $75 per person, which includes three birds, refreshments and lunch. Participants must have prior shooting experience and bring their own firearm and ammunition.
