St. Clair County Pheasants Forever "Dave Falk Memorial" Youth Hunt

St. Clair County Pheasants Forever Chapter #74 hosted the "David Falk Memorial" Youth Hunt on Saturday, September 28, 2019.  David Falk was a long time member of the chapter and after his passing, his family and friends wanted to do something to honor his memory.  David's family and friends came together to provide funding for our chapter to put on a youth hunt.

The youth hunt was held at Pheasant Ridge Hunt Club (7677 Martin Road, Imlay City, MI). Our hosts were owners Andy and Brenda Galante.  The Southeastern Michigan North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association provided dogs and handlers for the hunt.

We had 16 youth hunters participate in the hunt.  The youth were given the opportunity to shoot at some clay targets prior to going to the field after pheasants.  They also participated in discussions with Michigan Conservation Officers Jamie Salisbury and Bobby Watson.  Farm Bill Biologist for the Blue Water Conservation District Hunter Salisbury was also a guest speaker.  The young hunters also were given instructions in cleaning their birds for the table.  After a lunch and some more clay target shooting the young hunters and their families called it a day.  We would like to thank the following businesses and individuals that also helped make the day a success.  Jimmy Rankin Meats, Greg Goulding, TP Logos, Seven Crown Brittanys, VF Sports, and Blue Water Lodge.   A special thank you to Pheasant Ridge Hunt Club and the Southeastern Michigan North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association for their support.

A huge thanks to David Falk's family and friends who helped get the ball rolling on this project.
